Lodge Lake enjoys a continuous flow of crystal clear water through it originating from artesian wells rising in the old watercress beds upstream. The water is a constant 10.5 degrees centigrade throughout the year as it emerges from the chalk aquifer providing perfect conditions for trout and the aquatic food chain the lake supports. Favourite flies used by members; damsel fly nymphs, buzzers and blood worm imitation.

Bridge Lake is accessed via a footbridge over the old river Colne. It was excavated during 2007 in the old watercress beds known as an area called "Lavocks". Lavrock Lane is situated half a mile to the north of the lake. Bridge Lake was previously fished by CHTS members until 2020. During 2021 carp were grown in the lake until it was drained down in October 2021 when all carp were removed. The lake has it's own artesian water supply which flows through the lake and exits under the old River Colne and feeds into Lodge lake. Favourite flies used; damsel fly nymph, buzzers and shrimp imitations. Dry fly fishing can be prolific at certain times.

Chess Pool, as the name suggests, is located alongside the river Chess.. It is not fed by the river Chess but as with all the other three lakes is fed by cool crystal clear artesian water through underground pipes from Willow Lake. Chess Pool empties into a carrier stream which eventually flows into the Grand Union Canal in Rickmansworth. Chess Pool is the newest of our lakes and it is anticipated it will share some mayfly hatches being alongside the river Chess
